1. Overview

QR Tool is a QR code scanner and creator app for Android. The app is designed to help users scan QR codes, create QR codes, view scan results, copy or share generated codes, and save QR-related output where supported.

The app is currently in testing. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be accessed, processed, stored, collected, or shared when you use the app.

2. Information We Collect Directly

QR Tool does not require you to create an account. The app does not directly ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, physical address, account login details, or payment details. If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.

3. QR Codes and Scan Results

When you scan a QR code, the app may process the QR code content on your device so it can show you the result. QR code content may include plain text, website links, contact details, Wi-Fi details, or other information embedded in the code.

QR Tool is designed to process QR scan results locally where possible. We do not intentionally upload your scanned QR contents to our own servers. You are responsible for deciding whether to open, copy, share, or use any content found in a QR code.

4. QR Code Creation

If you create a QR code, the app may process the text, link, or other information you enter so the QR code can be generated. Generated QR codes may be stored locally, copied, shared, or saved depending on the features you choose to use.

5. Camera Access

QR Tool may request camera permission so that it can scan QR codes. Camera access is used for scanning and is not intended to capture or upload photos or videos to PieterPan Digital servers. If you deny camera permission, scanning features may not work.

6. Local App Data

The app may store limited local data on your device, such as app settings, scan history if the feature is available and enabled, generated QR codes, saved output, and basic preferences.

You can remove locally stored data by clearing the app’s storage/data in your Android device settings, deleting saved output files, clearing history where the app provides that option, or uninstalling the app.

7. Ads, Analytics, and Crash Reporting

Depending on the testing or production version, QR Tool may use services such as Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play services, or similar tools for ads, analytics, crash reporting, app diagnostics, and reliability improvements.

These services may process technical information such as app version, device model, operating system version, crash logs, diagnostic information, app usage events, installation identifiers, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and app interaction information. During testing, advertising may be disabled or limited to test configurations.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share or allow access to limited data with advertising providers, analytics and crash reporting providers, legal authorities where required, or where necessary to protect rights, security, users, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harmful activity.

If you open a scanned link or share QR content using another app, that external app or website will handle the information according to its own privacy policy.

9. Permissions Used by the App

QR Tool may request permissions depending on the version and features used. These may include camera access for scanning, internet and network access for ads, analytics, crash reporting, or app services, and storage/media access only where needed to save or share generated QR code images or output.

The app does not require access to contacts, microphone, SMS messages, phone call logs, or precise GPS location for normal QR scanning and creation.

10. Children’s Privacy

QR Tool is intended for a general audience, but it is not specifically directed at children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children and does not include user accounts, chat, or user-generated public profiles.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Local app data may remain on your device until you delete it, clear app data, clear history where available, delete saved output, or uninstall the app. Data processed by third-party services is handled according to those providers’ own retention policies.

Because QR Tool does not currently use accounts or store personal profiles on our own servers, there is no account deletion process inside the app.

12. Security, International Processing, and Changes

We take reasonable steps to keep the app safe and avoid unnecessary data collection, but no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. QR codes can contain unsafe or misleading links, so users should review scan results carefully before opening them.

Third-party services may process data on servers located in different countries. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by changing the “Last updated” date.
